At de Lima’s wine bar, Portugal is not a theme. It’s the whole story.

We pour only Portuguese wines, made from Portuguese grapes, rooted in Portuguese places. Not because we want to limit choice, but because we believe depth is more interesting than breadth. Portugal is one of the world’s most diverse wine regions, home to over 250 indigenous grape varieties. From the cool Atlantic north to the sun-baked plains of the Alentejo, no two regions taste the same. We pour what we do because we haven't run out of things to discover. We probably never will.

We Start in the Vineyard, Not the Bottle

We approach wine from a viticulturist’s perspective rather than a sommelier’s one. That means we think about wine the way a farmer thinks about food. We look past the label and focus on what happened before the bottle was even corked: the vineyard decisions, the farming philosophies, and how that specific year's weather shaped the fruit.

This is a grounded, agricultural lens. It cuts out the formality, the rigid tasting notes, and the prestige, focusing instead on the living link between the land and the people who work it.

Because we value authenticity over performance, service here is about curiosity, not ceremony. You’ll find friendly, knowledgeable people who want to share honest recommendations and real answers—whether you arrive with deep wine knowledge or none at all.
